Whilst specialising in heritage, the nature and scope of our projects is varied and extensive. A number of our key projects are featured in the case studies below.
Ranging from feasibility studies for the developer and house histories for the private homeowner, these also encompass the full range of documentation required in support of the planning process; assessing and justifying proposals from pre-application and through full planning and to appeal if necessary.
Typically, our work will entail the production of Heritage Statements seeking either planning permission or listed building consent; Statements of Significance, perhaps seeking to have a site de-listed or the designation revisited; or Conservation Area Statements, again seeking to have a designation revisited and the client’s site omitted from within a conservation area boundary.
Appeals and enforcement or prosecution in relation to heritage issues are also typical, and we will act on your behalf to represent your case in writing and/or person to either the local planning authority or Planning Inspectorate, to have either the appeal allowed, or any action negotiated toward the satisfaction of all interested parties.
We also undertake condition surveys, advising on repair schedules or method statements addressing works of a conservation emphasis. In relation to archaeology, we have considerable experience in the production of Desk Based Assessments; Heritage Impact Assessments; Written Schemes of Investigation; Archaeological Building Recording; and negotiating Scheduled Monument Consents.
